Corruption Watch

Corruption Watch is a South African civil society not-for-profit organisation. The Corruption Watch team will gather and analyse information from the public; build alliances; and help people take a stand against corruption. By shining a light on corruption and those who act corruptly, we promote transparency and accountability and protect the beneficiaries of public goods and services.
Corruption weakens institutions, criminalises individuals and undermines social solidarity. Corruption Watch will provide tools of support for a more engaged and active civil society in South Africa. Each act of corruption that is prevented by our citizens underpins and fortifies civil society and thereby enhances democracy, the rule of law and the establishment of a more caring and just society

Equal Education

EE advocates for quality and equality in the South African education system and engages in evidence-based activism for improving the nation’s schools. It is a leader in youth leadership development. EE’s campaigns, based on detailed research and policy analysis, are aimed at achieving quality education for all.
We promote the rights to equality and education, with the firm belief that these will enable the poor and working classes to an equal opportunity in life.
Education is an end in itself. Also, education helps one to understand and demand the full realisation of the rights enshrined in the Constitution. Led by young activists, EE seeks to improve the poor quality of education in South Africa by working together with communities, schools, teachers, principals, learners, parents, academics, researchers and the government. We build an understanding of the educational system, whilst drawing attention to problems faced by schools and their communities. Equipped with this knowledge, EE offers a new way for people to participate in the democratic system and bring change to education and society.
Activate
![]()
The goal of the Activate! Leadership and Public Innovation programme is to spark public innovation by charging up a network of young leaders so that they can link the poles of South African society. The programme will, over a five-year period, connect up to 5,000 innovative young leaders predominantly from marginalized communities to one another and to points of influence and opportunity across social and economic divides. They will be selected on the basis of their proven commitment to the public good, and their abilities will be developed and directed to some of the toughest social problems faced by their communities.
The premise of this initiative is that new connections to information, opportunity and influence can be a powerful catalyst for innovation in highly polarised societies. If directed to the public good, these connections can strengthen development and democracy by building trust and accountability and making people less tolerant of destructive risk. By creating a public profile for the network of these young leaders, they will be able to participate in and help to substantively shape our national discourse.
Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is an alliance driven by the vision of a world without malnutrition. Created in 2002 at a Special Session of the UN General Assembly on Children, GAIN supports public-private partnerships to increase access to the missing nutrients in diets necessary for people, communities and economies to be stronger and healthier.
In less than a decade, GAIN has been able to scale its operations by investing in and working alongside more than 600 companies across 36 large-scale collaborations in more than 25 countries, reaching close to 400 million people with nutritionally enhanced food products. Half of the beneficiaries are women and children. GAIN’s goal is to reach more than one billion people with fortified foods that have sustainable nutritional impact.
GAIN is a Swiss foundation headquartered in Geneva with a special international status granted by the Swiss government. Its worldwide presence includes an office in Washington D.C. as well as regional and country representatives in Johannesburg, New Delhi, Cairo, Nairobi, Kabul and Shanghai to support its activities.
